Surf Farm’s experienced team with 40+ years of collective expertise, have pioneered one of the world’s first commercial surf parks in Australia. Their legacy extends beyond the wave pool development, leaving an indelible footprint on landmark real estate projects, commercial enterprises, innovative technology initiatives, and high-end hospitality ventures.

Their diverse tech background perfectly positions them as leaders in redefining wave pool experiences; setting benchmark standards in the surfing and leisure sector that elevate Surf Farm to a level that is truly world-class.

The lineup

Craig Morrison has a diverse entrepreneurial background, successfully founding and operating a variety of businesses and corporations across the information technology, hospitality, property development, and real estate sectors.

Raised on the Sunshine Coast and holding a Bachelor in Information Technology with a Marketing minor from USC; Craig is a passionate advocate for the investment and lifestyle benefits of this region, and is a key stakeholder in progressive initiatives such as Surf Farm, along with other commercial ventures.

Driven, energetic, and well-connected, Craig is highly respected amongst the movers and shakers in this region’s business community; recognised for his vision, professionalism, and establishment of successful enterprises of which Surf Farm will be no exception.

Chris Salmon is a founding investor and advisor to the board of URBN Surf; one of the world’s first commercial surf parks - URBN Surf Melbourne opened in January 2020, with a second site opening soon in Sydney Olympic Park. Chis has in excess of a decade’s experience in the Wave Pool development space and as a co-director of Surf Farm, he is a driving force in its evolution.

Holding a Bachelor of Business with a Finance Major and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland; Chris has worked nationally and abroad in investment banking for major multinationals, prior to moving across to the family’s successful heavy equipment hire and earthmoving business - Salmon Earthmoving Australia, where he is now CEO.

Chris is an innovative visionary who thinks strategically and laterally to transcend the ordinary, to establish and operate industry-leading enterprises that are truly world class.

Mark Salmon has an extensive background in the property industry with in excess of 40 years working across developments, including major commercial and large scale high- density projects in southeast Queensland and interstate, including positions as Project Director at Kawana Waters and the Caloundra South 20,000 lot project (now Aura).

Collaborating and liaising with both the public and private sector, Mark was also a significant player in the creation of the new SunCentral CBD and was Project Director for the Maroochydore City Centre for 11 years through to December 2023.

As Project Manager Mark will be drawing from his vast experience and utilising his professional skillset to oversee and coordinate the development, sustainability, and future success of Surf Farm.

Tom Lane is a visionary entrepreneur, developer, and brand builder whose career bridges luxury retail, sustainable design, and conscious enterprise. A former Director of Oroton, the iconic Australian fashion house founded by his grandfather, Lane honed his expertise in strategic growth, branding, and customer experience before founding QuickSmart Homes, a pioneering modular construction company that redefined efficiency and sustainability in student housing for the Australian National University.

He went on to create The Farm Byron Bay, transforming an empty paddock into a world-renowned agritourism destination visited by over half a million people annually - a benchmark in blending profitability with purpose. As Co-Founder of The Range Estates, he has since led the creation of some of Australia’s most admired rural and coastal developments, from Byron Bay to the Southern Highlands (The Range, Copperstone, High Ground etc) all united by a commitment to design integrity and environmental stewardship.

Through Tom Lane Consulting, he now advises leading developers and boards on innovation, design, and sustainable growth. As a board member of Surf Farm, Tom brings an extraordinary wealth of experience in design, sustainability, leasing, and brand authenticity - helping guide the project’s evolution as a globally recognised surf and lifestyle destination.
